Seeing how long my toddler would go on a road trip without asking to watch a movie on the iPad. Answer: …….. the whole time. Our toddler does not get access to the iPad unless we’re traveling or she’s sick in bed to watch movies and play one Sesame Street game lol. When traveling I’m of the opinion that you do whatever you need to in order to survive LOL, but i do still always treat the iPad as a last resort rather than a first choice, i try to use all of my other resources first (her other toys and quiet activities). I downloaded a good selection of her favorite movies onto the iPad in preparation for this, I know she saw me do this but I never really mentioned that I was bringing the iPad for her. I just wanted to see how long she would go without needing it, and turns out she didn’t need it at all! Was it a huge stroke of luck and she was just having a great easy going day? I’m sure that’s part of it. I’m also aware that 5 hours is not the worlds longest road trip. I see so many parents saying they wish they could give their kids the childhood we had, before technology and stuff, and maybe, just maybe, we’re actually the ones getting in the way of them having that childhood? Maybe we jump to technology too fast as a distraction. I do it too. #roadtripwithatoddler #screenfreeroadtrip #roadtriptoys #azsahm
