Download TikTok Video: Interstellar isn t a movie about space it is a movie about

Interstellar isn’t a movie about space, it is a movie about emotion, love, betrayal, the human condition and science, set in space. What made Interstellar a staggering work of achievement for me was the close attention paid to the thematic structure of the movie, paired with a strong script and excellent choice of soundtrack. One of the main theme’s of the movie is the emotional versus the empirical, and in this case; the emotion being love. Nolan seems to suggest that mankind cannot survive on scientific data alone, that the human emotion of love is as important, or if not more important than data itself; that our instinct and gut feel is a critical component of decision making as technology advances. It is what makes us human. This is most apparent in the exchange between Cooper and Dr. Brand, when she says: “Maybe we’ve spent too long trying to figure all this out with theory. Maybe love is some artefact of another dimension we can’t perceive, love is the one thing we’re capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space; maybe we should trust that.” One of the most powerful movies I've ever watched, a beautiful story of a father's love for his daughter.
